IIT loves Sheila ki Jawani ; preferable over Jessica’s

Of all the eventful nights at IIT Bombay Moodi Indigo 2010 one thing was very common. SHEILA . Yes . IIT Junta wanted to see Sheila Ki Jawani .They demanded it from Asha bhosle , Amit Kumar , Amit Trivedi , Kavita Seth , Vidya Balan and even from the Sumo Wrestlers.Thank god , the guys didn’t demand it from the Katatonia.The sad part is NO ONE , Not a Single performer played Sheila Ki Jawani for IIT-B . There was some hope when the singer Kalpana sung the “Munni Badnam huee” in a sufi tone but she also didn’t do the Sheila for us.

Baap Ka Keher

I am forced to write this post after day before yesterday’s nite , the last night of Mood Indigo 2010.The Amit Trivedi set the IIT Bombay crowd on fire but there was one more performance that made the crowd go crazy.It was a band called LiFE from IIT Madras Pune who got the second prize in the Manthra competition(the judges were partial to the IIT Bombay band who were actually booed by the crowd along with another band Dravya which happened to be owned by Indian Idol star Emon from St.Xavier college).The song that caused the explosion in the SAC pavilions was BAAP KA KEHER which they explained to be the inspired by the discovery of a file called WINDOWS RAGA on the Drummer Mukender’s computer which was actually a 20 minute Porn file   . This song is loved by everyone irrespective of their relationship with their dads.

Flamingos and Circus Elephants (and No Sheila) at Moodi 2010

This year is my first year at IIT Bombay and Moodi as well.Moodi for me at first sounded like a disturbance from the work i am trying to involve myself,but later it looks like a migration season when all sorts of birds come and go.IIT has turned into a vedanthagal bird sanctuary where all sorts of migration birds have come and they will all leave tommorrow.This pic of mine captured by some unknown best explains all.It’s not only the birds I am, enjoying here at IIT during moodi , i also enjoyed talking to some eminent writers like Ramchand Guha and watching Asha Bhosle , Amit Kumar , Katatonia , Indus Creed , Kavitha Seth and a new singer Kalpaana LIVE.What hurt me was Sumo wrestling.Though the Sumo wrestlers made the audience enjoy the evening but I felt the sumo wrestlers were treated no less than circus elephants.

Is sumo wrestling on the verge of extinction that it has to survive on such cheap gimmicks?I have been enjoying moodi but hoping to enjoy even more next year, this year i enjoyed only tip of the ice.I also learnt that Condoms come in JEANS texture,yes this moodi Durex released jeans condoms.
