It occured to me during the IPL season 2 when I was asking my friends in an excited mood :
“Which team you are supporting ?”
The response I got from most of the people was
“I am not interested in IPL,there are even bigger issues to be resolved like Recession”.
It is really sick that people, companies and nations tend to brood over recession and instead of coming out of it they fallback into the vicious spiral of negative thinking.
RECESSION —> NO SPENDING —- > RECESSION
Even my bosses are uttering the word ‘Recession’ for any new proposal I suggest. What the companies are not realising is that recession is the time when world needs people to take risks…ofcourse Innovation is a child of crazy risks taken.I am getting sick of the people’s sick attitude towards life, people becoming more and more defensive and hence giving way for more recession. We will never be able to fight recession if we continue like this.
I remember a story which I read in my 11 th Grade namely “The Man who saved Pumpelsdrop”.I believe the world today needs this story to be read and understood so much. For those who don’t remember this story or have never read this story :
The story goes like this
- The City of Pumpelsdrop was once going through a Terrible Economic Crisis
- The people stopped celebrating their birthdays and there were no festivities. They didn’t celebrate christmas for two years.
- One day a newbie to the town of Pumpelsdrop visited a car dealer and ordered for a pair of Rolls Royce car to be delivered on the eve of Christmas. One for her daughter and another for her wife.
- The car dealer was elated since , it was the first time in years when a customer has visited his showroom.
- The car dealer was so happy that he gave the part of his saved money to his wife to buy a pair of necklace.
- The diamond merchant was so happy that he gave his wife a lumpsome money to buy furniture for the house.
- Hence the Furniture merchant became so happy that he ordered white-washing to his old house.
- Like this ,within two weeks the whole town came alive and was bustling with economic activity.People were now even ready for celebrating the Christmas this time.
- On the Eve of the Christmas, the car dealer was waiting for the Man who has ordered the Rolls-Royce car.Instead a truck from a Lunatic Asylum came to the showroom and some men from the truck said “Did you see a lunatic man, who was ordering two Rolls-Royce car”.
The Moral of the Story is If you continue to be in Negative Thoughts you will never come out of it.Start taking real calculated risks if you want to reverse the bad times.
The above story is in the context of a small town and may not be an exact analogy for the current recession(as it involves various micronomies invloved) but the point we need to understand including the companies which cribble in the name of Recession and get away from giving it’s employees promotion and various other incentives is that never live in Negative thoughts about the current or past failures, try to come out of it;Even if the risks you take sound CRAZY.JUST DO IT.

For the past few months my mind has been toggling between various plans I made for my life. It’s really frustrating that the third world Islam fanatics are being easily brain-washed to join the silly movement called ‘Jihad’ due to which I didn’t get onsite assignment.
You must be wondering how the 9/11 is related to the economic crisis and how the hell it is related to this stupid blogger’s career. They say it is Butterfly-Effect or Chaos theory which says even a small butterfly’s wing flap has got the power to change the course of history.

If Bin Laden had not planned the attack on US, the US wouldn’t have spent so much on the armies sent to Afganisthan (as a fire fighting measure) and to Iraq (as a proactive step to curb future terrorism).Have the money spent on the US Armed Forces in these countries US economy wouldn’t slumped and I would have gone to San Antonio for some crap project in USAA.I am no economic expert but I would say even the Banking mudslide wouldn’t have had much impact on the world economy.

But they also say everything is for Good;
How ??
The world is now more alert. The intelligence agencies around the world seem to be more alert after the 9/11 as nobody wants to see more 9/11 s anymore. The intelligence alert on the south-indian cities is a very good sign that we have been able to track down the terrorist activities even before they happen.(Hatz off to the Indian police; They do their work though they Eat a lot too, below the table).
How did 9/11 and Economic slidedown benefit me personally ??

I wouldn’t have got a chance to attend Krish Ashok’s Web 2.0 Knowledge sharing session , If I got the VISA stamped two months earlier.Neither would I have got into Web 2 lab nor would I have got a chance to learn the new technologies in the lab.Neither I would have got a chance to ditch and be ditched …. Well leave it.It’s a long list.I did so much.I learnt so much during the last year(June 08-09).So much that it would take a 1000 pages book to explain the turn of events during this period(my life events alone).I think the stage is set for me to launch myself in my career and my life.Definitely nothing to be proud about.I am really hopeful that my efforts to have a lifestyle I wanted (think-today-about-Cyprus-Islands-and-reach-Cyprus-Islands-in-the-next-morning-kind-of-life-style) will come true atleast by next year. There was even a time when I didn’t even know what I want. Now that I know them the problem is setting the priorities.

Will some Butterfly flap it's wings to change my stangnant life cum career
Ever since the recession,my career has stagnated and doesn’t seem to be improving though my personal life has seen rapid turbulent changes some for good and some for worse.I feel I am more equiped to face the big-bad world out there than ever before.I can’t wait anymore for the magic flap of an angel butterfly somewhere in Easter-Islands or Peru to change my life forever.
